How can I purchase a Douro Sailing tour or make a booking?
You can book a Douro Sailing tour through the Book button on the website, or contact us directly for something more personalised using the form.
When purchasing a tour will I receive a voucher?
If you wish, yes! Just let us know you'd like a voucher. We can even put any name on it, in case you want to offer it as a gift.
How far in advance can I book?
The ideal is to book at least 48 hours in advance. However, you can call the day before — or even on the day — to check availability.
May I change my reservation?
You can change your reservation whenever you want — we understand that sometimes unforeseen events come up.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation with refund is only allowed if notified 48 hours before the scheduled tour. If guests do not arrive on time, there is no refund — punctuality is key to everyone's enjoyment.
Tours may be cancelled on the day if weather and safety conditions are not met. In such cases, you may choose a full refund or to rebook for another date, subject to availability.
Do children pay the same as adults?
Yes, children count as a passenger, the same as adults.
Where do departures and arrivals take place?
All departures and arrivals are made from Douro Marina, Porta/Cais D.
Are the cabins comfortable? Are the beds big?
There are 2 cabins (suites) with double beds at the stern and 2 cabins with bunk berths for 2 people each at the bow. All have a private shower and toilet, with all the comfort for a restful night. For a clearer idea, see the «Overnight Stay» experience.
Is smoking allowed inside the boat?
It is expressly forbidden to smoke inside the boat.
For overnight stays, is the boat shared with other people?
No! When you book one or several nights, the boat is just for you. The space is yours.
For nights on board, what is the check-in procedure?
You should arrive at Douro Marina, in front of Porta/Cais D, at the prearranged time, where a member of our team will welcome you.
Is there parking available?
Douro Sailing offers a free parking space at Douro Marina to guests who sleep on board.
Is there an internet connection on board?
Yes, there is a free wi-fi system available on board.
How do I get to Douro Marina?
With a privileged location in Vila Nova de Gaia, our sailboat sits on the shores of Porto, just 3 km from the historic centre. You can come by bus (STCP) — Arrábida stop (902, 903, 907) or Afurada (14, 18, 27) — or by taxi boat (Flor do Gás speedboat, from Lordelo do Ouro to Douro Marina).
